Written for kids 8-12, Believe: Kid’s Edition is part of the national church-wide campaign led by bestselling author Randy Frazee that takes kids on a journey to become more like Jesus in their beliefs, actions, and character.
They know the story of the Bible, but do they know what it means? Adapted from the ground-breaking new Believe campaign from bestselling author and pastor Randy Frazee, the Believe: Kids’ Edition takes kids on a thematic tour through the Bible and shows them how to think, act, and be more like Jesus.
As children ages 8-12 walk through the three big categories of Christian life—beliefs, practices, and virtues—they’ll begin a journey that will take them closer to the heart of Jesus and deeper into the words of Scripture. They’ll learn what the Bible has to say about everything from the nature of God and the identity of Jesus, to prayer, worship, and the fruit of the Spirit. Foundational and faith-building, this book can be used by individuals or in conjunction with the all-church campaign.
You can purchase this book at Amazon in paperback, hardcover and Kindle edition. It can also be purchased at CBD.
Reading through this I found myself very excited to share it with my children. I was very intrigued by the idea of helping my children to understand what they believe and why they believe it, not just read the Bible. There are three sections to the book each focusing on a specific topic:
Section 1: THINK (What do I believe?)
Section 2: ACT (What should I do?)
Section 3: BE (Who am I becoming?)
Each section helps kids to understand different aspects of the Christian life. These aspects include Salvation, Church, Prayer, Worship and the Fruits of the Spirit. The scripture is quoted from the NIrV (New International Reader's Version) which is not my favorite, but I did keep an open mind while reading it and it does seem that the doctrine is sound and the verses do seem to hold true. I enjoyed the format of the book. As always with any book that is pertaining to Christian living or Spiritual growth always use it prayerfully and discerningly. This is a fascinating and enticing book that I am looking forward to using with my children for Bible study.
I received this book from the publisher through the Book Look Blogger program in exchange for my personal review. A Positive review was not required.
