Deeply affected by the horrors he witnessed at war, Ben Locke has never thought further ahead than making it home to Kentucky. His future shrouded in as much mist as his beloved mountains, he's at a loss when it comes to envisioning what's next for his life.
When Francine's and Ben's paths intersect, it's immediately clear that they are from different worlds and value different things. But love has a way of healing old wounds . . . and revealing tantalizing new possibilities.

Here is what I thought......
I really enjoyed this book. I love WW2 books and this one takes place at the end of the war. I had never heard of these frontier nurses before reading this book. I found that aspect of the book to be fascinating. I so enjoyed the setting of the Appalachian mountains. Ann beautifully depicted the sights and sounds of the mountains. I enjoyed each character in the book. From the main characters of Francine and Will to the secondary characters of Granny Em and Mrs. Locke. I have enjoyed every book by Ann and this one is no exception. This story also has a good amount of romance but it's not mushy. This book is perfect to curl up with on a cool evening in a chair with a warm blanket. I received this book from Revell for free. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.
