Playing the Part by Jen Turano

Lucetta Plum is an actress on the rise in New York City, but is forced to abandon her starring role when a fan's interest turns threatening. Lucetta's widowed friend, Abigail Hart, is delighted at the opportunity to meddle in Lucetta's life and promptly whisks her away to her grandson's estate to hide out.

Bram Haverstein may appear to simply be a somewhat eccentric gentleman of means, but a mysterious career and a secret fascination with a certain actress mean there's much more to him than society knows.

Lucetta, who has no interest in Abigail's matchmaking machinations, has the best intentions of remaining cordial but coolly distant to Bram. But when she can't ignore the strange and mysterious things going on in his house, it'll take more than good intentions to keep her from trying to discover who Bram is behind the part he plays.

Here is what I thought......
I really enjoyed this last book in the A Class of Their Own series. I became a fan of Jen when I read the first book in this series, After a Fashion. This book most certainly didn't disappoint. It was somewhat different than the first two. They were both more amusing. This book to me didn't seem to have the laugh out loud moments the first two books had. This book had a more serious tone. I really feel like this one was the best in the series.
This book was about Lucetta Plum an actress in New York City. She is being harassed by Silas Ruff a crazed fan, so to speak and has to figure out a way to get away from him. With the help of her friend Abigail she heads to Ravenwood Castle to hide. Revenwood belongs to Abigail's grandson Bram Haverstein a very handsome and somewhat odd gentleman. Lucetta soon finds herself in lots of interesting predicaments.
Playing the Part was a perfect ending to this series. We get to visit with characters from the previous two books as well as meeting some new ones. Jen does a great job with this series and I am so glad I was able to read all three books. This book is definitely worth reading and if you haven't read the previous books in the series it is a must. Thank you to Bethany House for the chance to review this book. A positive review was not required.
