Here are my thoughts....

Love, Love, Love!!! I am still trying to come up with ways to say how much I enjoyed this book. It's real, it's refreshing, it's engaging. I haven't read anything this good in a while. I really think this could rival some of Francine River's works. The author has a way of taking something gritty and a little edgy, that you might not normally read, and makes you keep turning page after page after page. I have now found an author that I want to read everything she has ever written. I cannot wait to read the rest in this series and I hope that she keeps writing more and more. I was very impressed with the salvation message and the message of redemption that was so beautifully woven into the story. Also on a side note  I loved that the main character has my name! I felt a special connection to her.

**Special Note** This book is a bit on the edgy side in some scenes, but I felt like it was very well done and not vulgar or sinful.

Give this book and this author a chance. I know you are going to love her!

Reader's Cozy Corner: Today I'm chatting with author Paula Scott and she has agreed to answer a Quick Five for me.

Paula: I'm so happy to answer your questions.

Question 1-- Who is your favorite author?

Paula:

I have a number of favorite authors

but I'll just share three for now. Laura Frantz, Joceyln Green, and Francine Rivers.

Reader's Cozy Corner: Love Francine Rivers!! I have not had the pleasure of reading the other two you mentioned, but I have heard many great things about them.

Question 2-- What is your favorite book?

Paula: My favorite historical romance is Courting Morrow Little by Laura Frantz. Where the Red Fern Grows is a favorite from my youth. Redeeming Love brought me healing that I didn't even know I needed when I became a Christian. I think I read it in 2002 and cried buckets of tears.

Reader's Cozy Corner: I think just from the Laura Frantz title I need to add it to my TBR pile. As bad as it is to say I have never read Where the Red Fern Grows, but I have seen the movie and tears were definitely shed. I have started Redeeming Love but have not finished it yet. What I have read has been an emotional rollercoaster.

Question 3-- What is your favorite Bible story?

Paula: My favorite Bible story is when the unnamed woman was at Jesus' feet weeping, "she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them," Luke 7:38. I've often pictured myself as this woman. I've been forgiven so much and love Jesus more than anything in this world.

Reader's Cozy Corner: Love that story! We recently studied this story in my Women's Sunday School class. It was so eye opening to hear this story in a different perspective.

Question 4-- What is your favorite snack while writing?

Paula:

I don't snack while writing. When I'm in the middle of creating a story, I often forget to eat. My favorite snack when I'm reading is popcorn smothered in salt and butter. 

Question 5-- What do you hope your writing will accomplish?

Paula: I hope my writing draws readers to Christ. My characters are sinners in need of a savior like we all are. I was saved at 33 years old. Coming to Christ was not pretty for me. It was a desperate struggle to surrender to a God who loved me more than I could ever imagine even though I didn't deserve that amazing love. I hope my stories reveal God in all his glory and beauty and his great love for us and portrays sinners the way they are, helpless to save themselves, and in a life and death struggle with sin.
