Biography
I'm an author, teacher, and speaker who enjoys coffee, dark chocolate, and all things literary. I've been married to a hilarious, talented guy for nineteen wonderful years--and two we don't talk about. Carey and I have two creative sons and live in Texas. My hobbies include traveling, blogging, cooking, and watching British television.
When I'm not desperately trying to find my keys or cell phone, I enjoy writing articles, essays and books. I've written Love at First Fight: 52 Story-Based Meditations for Married Couples (Barbour) with my hubby, Wounded Women of the Bible: Finding Hope When Life Hurts (Kregel, 2013) with Tina Samples, Let the Crows' Feet and Laugh Lines Come (Barbour, 2010), Mothers of the Bible (Barbour, 2009), Grace for the Race: Meditations for Busy Moms (print book--Barbour, 2004; e-book, Patheos Press, 2012), and The Groovy Chicks' Road Trip series (Cook, 2005 and 2006) with Laurie Barker Copeland. My magazine credits include Family Circle, Parenting, and Writer's Digest.

Here is what I thought.......
I really enjoyed delving into this little devotional. I think it would be great for newlyweds especially. I like how the authors do a he said, she said format. It helps you to understand both sides of the argument or discussion. It was also nice to see a scripture to go along with the point they were making. The tips from the pros section was a nice touch as well as the taking the gloves off section, where they have discussion questions to get you talking as a couple. This devotional of sorts would be great for any married couple but I could see the newlyweds gaining the most from it. This would make a fabulous gift. I received this book from Barbour Publishing in exchange for my honest review. A positive review was not required.
