What Colleen considered interesting about a person was different from most people’s definition of interesting. People who were especially kind or jolly for no apparent reason and people who had a vast amount of knowledge about common things like birds or plants fascinated Colleen. She found people interesting who had been through difficult circumstances and yet had made something of their life, people who had suffered great heartache and yet still expressed gratitude toward their Maker.
