About the Author

My name is Jenna Brandt and I am a Christian historical fiction author and my books span from the Victorian to Western eras with elements of romance, suspense and faith. I have been an avid reader since I could hold a book and started writing stories almost as early. I have been published in several newspapers as well as edited for multiple papers. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in English from Bethany College and was the Editor-in-Chief of my college newspaper. I'm an on-going contributor for The Mighty Website and my first Blog was published on Yahoo Parenting and The Grief Toolbox as well as featured on the ABC News and Good Morning America websites. Writing is my passion but I also enjoy cooking, watching movies, reading, engaging in social media and spending time with my three young daughters and husband where we live in the Central Valley of California. I am also active in my local church where I volunteer on their first impressions team as well as write features for the church’s creative team.

Y'all I am in love with this series. It is a whole lot different than the books I normally read. Not because it's a different genre or anything but it reads so deep an dark at times as well as very sensual and romantic. I will say it pushes the limit on Christian fiction and is a bit edgy but I can't help but keep reading and reading. I like that the author is more edgy with this story because it keeps it from feeling so syrupy sweet and like it's being wrapped up in a neat little bow. If Y'all decide you want to read the series, go ahead and get all three at the same time. Because you are definitely going to want to read straight through it. Check out below the specific things I liked and didn't like about book 2 in the series.

My Thoughts

Book 2 of the Window to the Heart Saga did not disappoint. I enjoyed where the book went and hated to see the twist at the end. I love and hate cliff hangers. I am however so grateful that I get to read all three books close together. I still like Margret and feel very sad for her at times with all she is having to go through. I almost liked Pierre and then I didn't. I really liked Michel also. I love the romance in these books, but the passion can be intense at times so be for-warned this isn't light romance. I would consider this to be more of an edgy Christian series, so keep that in mind while reading. My only real negative is that there is one ugly word in the book. Keep in mind that this book is definitely adult fiction and I would not recommend it for children under 13. Maybe even a little older than that. Overall an awesome read for adults. I received a copy of the book from the author for free. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.
