Here is what I thought.......
This book sounded really fantastic. The writing is decent and the story was promising but I had a hard time getting into it. I loved the cover.  This story is a bit slow starting. I thought it was gong to be fast paced by the way things started at the beginning but it seemed to lag a bit.  The whole plot of the book based on the back cover was about her husks disappearing but that is just a very brief part of the book. There was also a spot where the main character seems to be able to read minds which was a bit odd to me. And i don't know that the whole spirits and mythical creatures was a good fit for me either. Overall a sweet story but it just didn't hit the spot for me. I received this book from Celebrate Lit for free.  A positive review wasn't required.  All opinions are my own.

About the Author
In February 2015, Barbara Bras left the corporate world to pursue her dream of serving God. Unsure of exactly how to do so, she knew that her first step required sharing the amazing ways God blessed her life.

In March 2015, she attended a weekend writing seminar and experienced a life-changing event. As the story of her son's miraculous adoption and the challenging years that followed spilled onto the pages, it ultimately lead her to rediscover her very existence. Following her grandparents' remarkable survival and immigration to the US led Bras to tell the rest of her story, concluding with her search for purpose and true love.

During the months that followed the completion of her memoir, Barbara realized her life's new purpose. Captured by St. Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Barbara now views her writing first as a tribute to the God who comforts and strengthens us in hardships and trials, and second as her mission to encourage others. Her novels seek to inspire and encourage.
