My Thoughts
Michael Keane is just your average small town sheriff's deputy, until the day the town gossip finds a dead body on the steps of the courthouse. Will Michael be able to figure out who the killer is?

This book is a fast paced, keep you reading kind of book. It starts out right in the middle of everything and never quits. I enjoyed each character in the book. From the nosey Ms. Willadean to the quirky deputy Lester, each character made the book a better read. Almost like reading about a murder in Mayberry. I could not believe how well the who done it part of the book was done. I tried and tried to figure out who the killer was but I never could get it. Ann did a fabulous job of keeping me on my toes, always second guessing until the very end. There are secrets and surprises around every turn of the page.
Ann is a fantastic writer and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. You won't be disappointed when you read this book. It is full of mystery, suspense, and humor, with a little bit of thrill and romance mixed in.
