Letters From My Father's Murderer

An extraordinary true story of grace, mercy, and the redemptive power of God

When her father was murdered, Laurie Coombs and her family sought justice―and found it. Yet, despite the swift punishment of the killer, Laurie found herself increasingly full of pain, bitterness, and anger she couldn’t control. It was the call to love and forgive her father’s murderer that set her, the murderer, and several other inmates on the journey that would truly change their lives forever. This compelling story of transformation will touch the deepest wounds and show how God can redeem what seems unredeemable.

My Thoughts
Wow! Where do I begin? This book is an amazing story of the power of forgiveness only God can give. Reading Laurie's story was somewhat painful at times but a most compelling and beautiful story. Leaving it all to God she chose to forgive a man who by most anyone's standards is unforgiveable. She took a journey, that most people would be unwilling to take. A journey that was as hard as it was fulfilling.
I was completely overcome by this book. Following Laurie through her journey made my heart hurt at times. Seeing the pain and suffering she went through, it made me think about what I would do if I were in the same situation. Could I forgive a man for taking my father from me? This book made me realize that with God all things are possible. It also convicted me about the lack of forgiveness in my own life. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through the things Laurie went through, but I now see that I can forgive others with God's help, even small amounts of un-forgiveness can leave bitterness in our lives. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to read this book. Discovering ways to help me forgive others and trust God is a wonderful thing. This book would be a wonderful witnessing tool. It would also be an amazing gift for anyone who is in need of help with forgiveness and trusting God's will in their lives.
I am so thankful Laurie had the courage to share her story and is willing to let God use her life for him. Read it and pass it on. This book is a must read.
I was blessed with this wonderful book from the publisher through TBCN in exchange for my honest opinion. A positive review was not required.
